Local Kick-off Meeting of REFINE was Held

Improving the quality of education and expanding international cooperation in this context are among the priorities of ASUE. Since 2017 our University  has joined new “Reforming Master Programmes in Finance in Armenia and Moldova” (REFINE) “ERASMUS +” Project.

ASUE Foreign Relations Division is the  Armenian coordinator of  the  project,  and has  initiated a local kick-off  meeting at ASUE International Projects Center today. The meeting  was  attended  by Paruir Kalantaryan, Vice Rector of ASUE Educational-methodological matters, Aghavni Hakobyan, Head of Educational Division, Vard Ghukasyan, Head of Foreign Relations Division, Ashot Salnazaryan, the Chair of Finance, Anna  Aslanyan, the Chair of Banking  and Insurance, and lecturers of the  above  mentioned Chairs.

The  outcomes  of the  kick-off meeting held in Vienna (Austria), the  planned  actions within the WP1 (need assessment), upcoming events  and ASUE role were discussed during the meeting.

Vard Ghukasyan welcomed  the attendees  and presented the project briefly, then clarified ASUE role.   The wider objective of REFINE is to enhance the quality and relevance of six existing Master (MA) programmes in Finance in Armenia and Moldova through targeted reforms. REFINE addresses the need for reform of study programmes in Finance with regard to contents and teaching methodologies / pedagogical approaches. Moreover, it addresses the demand for alignment of study programmes with labour market demands to provide the Armenian and Moldovan economies with highly skilled graduates in Finance.

Margarit Marukyan, senior specialist of Foreign Relations Division reported  on discussion and outcomes of the kick-off meeting held in Vienna, upcoming actions  and the planned events.

Vanine Yeranosyan, PhD in Economics, Assistant Professor of the  Chair of Finance reported  on actions and outcomes of the WP1, as well as the expected outcomes.  Paruir Kalantaryan gave instructions to the program executives.
