Jan Zahradil is Awarded an Honorary Doctor of ASUE

Today, Jan Zahradil, President of the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe, was hosted  at  ASUE: Koryun Atoyan, ASUE Rector, Professor, Mikayel Melkumyan, Vice President of the RA National Assembly,  the  Chair  of  Microeconomics and Organization of Entrepreneurial Activities, ASUE, Doctor of Sciences, Professor, Gagik Vardanyan, Vice Rector  of Science  and  International Relations, met the  guest. The honorary guest met the  University  Leadership, members  of academic staff, employees  and  students  at ASUE Big Hall.

In welcoming speech Koryun Atoyan expressed happiness  to host Jan Zahradil at our University, spoke about the educational system of the  RA, which is in the Bologna process, presented ASUE and its cooperation with European Universities.

Mikayel Melkumyan, Vice President of the RA National Assembly,  the  Chair  of  Microeconomics and Organization of Entrepreneurial Activities, Doctor of Sciences, Professor, presented  the guest, referring to the guest's biography and activities.

Jan Zahradil delivered a lecture on the role of small states in the global trade cycle. Summarizing his speech, the member of European Parliament stated that Armenia has always been, is and will remain his best friend and he is ready to support the development of these relations.

The meeting was summed  up with a remarkable event: Rector  Koryun Atoyan announced that by the  decree of ASUE Scientific Board Jan Zahradil, President of the Alliance of Conservatives and Reformists in Europe is awarded an honorary doctor of Armenian State  University of Economics for significant achievements and invaluable contribution to the development of Armenia-European Union cooperation.

The guest welcomed ASUE decree and promised to display that honorable title in his office.

At the end, Mikayel Melkumyan gifted the  guest two monographs published by their Chair.
