Chair of Armenian and Russian Languages of ASUE was established in 1975.

In 1994 Chair of languages was collapsed and separate chairs of Armenian and Russian Languages were established. Chair of Armenian Language was headed by Professor B. GHAZARYAN and Chair of Russian Language was appointed Emma VARDUMYAN, Doctor of Philology, Professor. In 2007 the chairs again united and the Chair is Mari ZAKARYAN. Subject Armenian Language and Literature is taught in all departments of the University, for 1^st year students and Russian Language- for 1^st and 2^nd year students.

Researches

Annually about 25 works are published by the Chair.

Within previous years several scientific and methodological manuals, handbooks and collections of tests have been published.

Currently Armenian-Russian Dictionary of economic terms is drafted.
